Matosinhos
Matosinhos has some of the best beaches in the world for learning to practise sliding sports.
15 kilometers of sand and sea line the municipality’s coast, giving rise to different bathing spots. In the winter months, lovers of surfing, bodyboarding, sailing, and windsurfing find the perfect conditions for these sports, especially given the size of the waves. However, it’s in the summer months, when the waves are smaller, that the beaches fill up with beginners.
The beaches of Matosinhos and Leça are known for their vast potential and range of services for practicing water sports, offering excellent schools and some surf hostels. Both have unique natural features that favor the presence of both beginners and experienced practitioners.
