The best wave in the north of Portugal.
Espinho’s sandy beach is marked by spurs that momentarily calm the sea’s temperament, favoring calm swims on the one hand and successive swells on the other.
Around 8 kilometers of beaches and waves make up the landscape of this destination, which is internationally renowned for its suitability for water sports such as surfing, bodyboarding and longboarding. In recent years, several national and international surfing events have been hosted, including the Northern Surfing Circuit and some World Surfing League championships.
Along the coast, there are natural bathing paradises with Atlantic waves, the most popular among surfers being Praia da Baía and Praia de Silvalde. There is also a wide range of schools and academies aimed at promoting these sports.
